13^th International Print Exhibition and Exchange

at PROOF Studio Gallery

Celebrating The Chinese Year of the HORSE 2014

PROOF Studio Gallery is again pleased to host the 13^th  International Print Exhibition and Exchange – an opportunity for printmakers from anywhere in the world to connect with each other by exhibiting their print interpretation of the zodiac sign of the HORSE for the Chinese New Year 2014.  In previous years artists from Switzerland, Australia, India, Guatemala, China, Mexico, Germany, Japan, Ireland, Scotland, Hong Kong, France, the United States and Canada have participated in this exhibition and print exchange.

Print Information & Submission Guidelines

Each artist creates a limited edition print using a traditional print technique such as etching, wood block, linoblock, embossing, lithographs, relief, silkscreen or mixed print media inspired in some way by the HORSE. As always, the Year of the Snake is both an exchange and a series of exhibitions. The first print is kept and used for the travelling exhibitions. The other prints are offered for sale or used for the exchange. For the exchange, you receive back other artists' work and other artists get your prints.

2013 Exhibitions included: PROOF Studio Gallery in Toronto, OCADU (Ontario College of Art & Design University) Toronto, Ottawa School of Art, Ottawa, Muskoka Art Place Gallery, Port Carling, Ontario, Royal Rosseau College, Muskoka and Concordia University Mouse Hole Gallery in Montreal. Similar exhibitions are planned for 2014 for the Year of the Horse. The show travels from February to the end of May.  After the show comes home to PROOF your prints are exchanged and mailed out.

Requirements for Submission

Dimensions: paper size 10" x 12" maximum (image can be any size that fits on 10” x 12” paper, 3-5 prints

Printmaking Media: Any traditional printmaking technique or combination including relief, etching, lithography, silkscreen, wood block, mixed print methods, letterpress, monoprints - please no straight digital prints.
Participation Fee: $25 (Covers your participation fee & matting & mailing)
Payment must be by cash of either Canadian or American denominations, Canadian cheques only, or Paypal (Paypal username is fineart 'at' proofstudiogallery.com)

Submission Deadline: Must be received by January 20th, 2014
The first print is matted and used for the travelling exhibitions. All other prints will be offered for sale. Proceeds are split 30/70 with artist. Unsold prints are exchanged with other printmakers.
